The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Laboratory Analyst for Nigeria’s Strengthening Integrated Delivery of HIV/AIDS Services (SIDHAS). CHAI’s role on the SIDHAS program will include maximizing the quality of pediatric HIV/AIDS services through mentorship programs and negotiating low priced health commodities, including standardization of equipment procurement and maintenance contracts at affordable costs to the Government of Nigeria. The Analyst will be responsible for providing technical assistance to the SIDHAS program and attain the laboratory and diagnostic goals of the program. Responsibilities: |
- Assist with the improvement of the national laboratory procurement and supply chain network. Tasks will include quantification assistance, building capacity at the Federal and State MOH for laboratory procurement, and development of a monitoring system to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain;
- Develop national service maintenance contract for diagnostic instruments, reagents, service and maintenance. Gather data from IPs, GON and GF for all CD4 machines in country, negotiate with vendors on terms of national contract, coordinate stakeholder meeting to get buy in, build capacity of GON staff on maintenance contract negotiation;
- Provide technical assistance to the National Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) Laboratory Team to support the national scale up of EID;
- Develop testing guidelines, training manuals, on-site training programs and quality assurance programs;
- Coordinate Training of Trainer and step down training for EID, conduct monitoring and evaluation for EID testing;
- Build capacity of GON on EID national scale up and the use of SMS printer technologies and the development of a national SMS printer program;
- Develop sample transportation system and laboratory network, routing samples from sites to nearest reference labs and piloting of cost effective long term solutions. Provide support to transition financial and management responsibilities to the MOH and implementing partners;
- Support the transition of diagnostic related commodities to state and federal authorities;
- And any other responsibilities as designated by the Country Director

Qualifications: |
- Bachelors Degree a minimum, Masters Degree will be an added advantage
- Minimum professional experience requirement of 2 years
- Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills with the ability to build relationships
- Excellent problem solving skills, analytical capabilities, and quantitative skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High level of proficiency in relevant computer applications particularly Excel, Powerpoint and Word
- Ability and willingness to work in a resource poor setting
- Fluency in English
- Candidates with experience in the private sector and those from a management consulting background are strongly encouraged to apply
